I love reading series. Series are comfort food for my reading soul. There’s no feeling quite like picking up the newest release in a favorite series, hitting the pre-order button for an eagerly anticipated title or discovering a new series. Mainly I read murder/mystery, suspense, action, police procedural and crime fiction along with historical series though I do at times delve into other genres. For me a series is four or more titles with repeating/related characters. No trilogies here.
